Dr. Martin A. Schreiber
Martin A. Schreiber, MD, FACS, FCCM, FRCST (Hon), is an internationally recognized trauma and critical care surgeon with more than 30 years in military medicine, academic surgery, and research. A Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, he is Director of Surgical Research at Madigan Army Medical Center and Adjunct Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University. He trained at the University of Washington and was Professor of Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University from 2008 to 2025, where he founded its trauma division and led the Trunkey Center for Civilian and Combat Casualty Care. He deployed three times to Iraq and Afghanistan, serving as Chief of Surgery for the 228th Combat Support Hospital in Tikrit and Director of the Joint Theater Trauma System. His research spans traumatic brain injury, hemorrhagic shock, and hemorrhage control, with more than 350 peer-reviewed publications. He directs the Definitive Surgical Trauma Care Course.
