Woman Stabbed, Sexually Assaulted in Downtown Portland

A woman walking in southwest Portland was grabbed from behind, cut with a knife, hit with a gun and sexually assaulted.

It happened just before 4:00 Tuesday morning near Southwest 12th Avenue and Main Street.

She told police that her attacker pulled her into some pushes, cut her with a knife, hit her with a handgun, and sexually assaulted her,

She was able to break away, run and hide, and call police.

Portland police they are looking for a dark-skinned African American male, 5'7" tall, skinny build, unknown age, wearing a white t-shirt, black athletic shorts, black and white shoes, and something on his head like a towel or bandana.

This is the second stranger on stranger sexual assault in Portland in four days.

Police point out that the descriptions in the two attacks are different.

Both people are still at large.
