• Snags, ash and smoke: What hunters face in Central Oregon's burn zones this season (centraloregondaily.com) — Hunters heading out from Prineville this weekend will find Ochoco National Forest and other Central Oregon burn areas full of snags, ash, and some lingering smoke, but no new fire closures. Officials urge extra caution around uncleared campsites, unstable trees, and stump holes, and remind hunters to follow Oregon’s rules for removing all edible game meat from harvested animals.
