St. Charles names Michael Hartke as next president, CEO (redmondspokesman.com) ā St. Charles Health System has chosen current COO Michael Hartke as its next president and CEO, while its new $65 million cancer center in Redmond has just opened to patients. Outgoing CEO Dr. Steve Gordon will stay on through the third quarter to support the transition and plans to remain part of the Central Oregon community.

2. Seven Red Light Cameras Go Live in Redmond May 15 - The Source - Bend, Oregon (bendsource.com) ā Starting May 15, Redmond will activate seven automated red light and speed cameras at high-crash intersections and along SW Quartz Avenue, with tickets following on June 15. Police emphasize safety over revenue, and explain how data privacy, fines, school-zone penalties, and future camera locations on city and ODOT-managed roads will work for local drivers.

Redmond Has a Thriving Art Community - The Source - Bend, Oregon (bendsource.com) ā A new community art center on SW Sixth Street in downtown Redmond is quickly becoming a hub for local artists, classes, and exhibits. Habitat for Humanity's Women's Build Week helps finish Redmond homes (centraloregondaily.com) ā Women volunteers are spending this week in Redmond helping finish the last three homes in Habitat for Humanityās Timber Cottage development, creating more affordable options for local families. With low fixed mortgage and utility costs, the project aims to ease Central Oregonās rising housing expenses while welcoming beginners to learn building skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.
