Dry Canyon Arts Association Makes $40,000 Donation Towards Art Education in Redmond Schools (ktvz.com) — Redmond elementary students are getting a big boost in art education thanks to a $40,000 donation from the Dry Canyon Arts Association to the school district’s JumpStart Art Program. The group also raises thousands more through raffles and will host a Fall Art Show and Sale at Obsidian Middle School on November 14–15, with proceeds again funding hands-on art experiences for local kids.

2. Redmond School District superintendent to retire (redmondspokesman.com) — Redmond families will see a major leadership change as longtime School District Superintendent Charan Cline plans to retire at the end of the 2026-27 school year, after helping secure a $97 million bond for campus upgrades. The school board has already launched a search, hiring a consultant to find a new superintendent who will take over on July 1, 2027.

3. Redmond airport concessionaire ousted after 17 years of business, legal actions taken (redmondspokesman.com) — Redmond residents will see a major shakeup at the municipal airport, as the city has awarded a 10-year concessions contract to national firm Tailwind Hospitality, ending local company Aviano’s 17-year run. Aviano is suing the city and Tailwind, alleging an unfair bidding process and inappropriate contacts with former airport director Zachary Bass, while the city declines comment due to pending litigation.

4. Kiefer Magic Launches as Independent Nonprofit, Building on a Community Legacy of Mental Health Support (cascadebusnews.com) — Redmond’s Wild Ride Brewing will host a No-Shave November event on Friday, November 6, 2026, raising money for the newly independent mental health nonprofit Kiefer Magic. Created in memory of Kiefer Leutschaft, the organization is expanding beyond its annual birthday fundraiser to promote suicide prevention, connect people with behavioral health resources, and support local students pursuing mental health careers.

Summit leans on its bread and butter to get past Ridgeview (redmondspokesman.com) — High school football fans in Redmond saw a nail-biter at Reece Rollins Field, where Summit edged previously undefeated Ridgeview 14–13 by leaning heavily on its running game. A missed extra point proved costly for Ridgeview, as Summit’s late ground attack and clock-killing drive preserved the narrow win and left the Storm alone atop the Intermountain Conference standings.
