• Sunriver Stars Community Theater hosts Hollywood Gala on Jan. 23 (sunriverchamber.com) — Sunriver residents can look forward to a Vintage Hollywood-themed gala on Jan. 23, 2027 at Crosswater, supporting Sunriver Stars Community Theater’s productions and goal of a permanent home. The volunteer-run nonprofit is celebrating 15 seasons of local performances and inviting the community to dress up, enjoy dinner and entertainment, and bid in a fundraising auction benefiting future arts programming in Sunriver.
   

• Solid Waste Management Plan a ‘Long-Term Roadmap' for Deschutes County (newsbreak.com) — Deschutes County’s new Solid Waste Management Plan will shape how trash and recycling are handled at facilities serving Sunriver/La Pine and other rural areas as Knott Landfill nears capacity. The roadmap calls for a new materials recovery facility, expanded curbside recycling in rural zones, and improved composting methods to boost the county’s recycling rate toward a 45% goal.
