ā¢ City of Portland owes $1.6M in missed payments to a regional cable commission (kgw.com) ā Troutdaleās cable and broadband oversight body, the Mount Hood Cable Regulatory Commission, is owed more than $1.6 million after Portland failed to transfer required funds between 2020 and 2025. The shortfall affects Troutdale and neighboring cities just as the commission is set to dissolve this month, prompting calls for deeper audits and clearer repayment plans to make each community whole.

ā¢ Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program FY 25 (portland.gov) ā Troutdale is part of the area covered by East Metro SWAT, which plans to use new federal grant funding to replace aging precision rifles used in highārisk incidents across east Multnomah County. The same Justice Assistance Grant package will also fund a new armored response vehicle and youth violenceāprevention program in Portland, plus justiceāintegrity work at the Multnomah County District Attorneyās Office.
