• Conduit to Carbon-Free in Tualatin: Oregon Municipality Powers First In-Pipe Hydropower Project (energytech.com) — Tualatin has switched on a first-of-its-kind in-pipe hydropower system that now powers the city’s Services building using pressure from its drinking water lines. City leaders say the 56-kW setup should cover the facility’s annual electricity needs, cut energy costs by about $26,000 a year, and lay groundwork for future solar and battery backup.

• Jerold 'Jerry' Duckworth (portlandtribune.com) — Family, friends, and union colleagues of Jerry Duckworth are invited to a memorial service on November 7 at 11 a.m. at the Local 290 Plumbers & Steamfitters Hall in Tualatin. Duckworth, a longtime Hillsboro pipefitter known for his generosity and skill, built a 23-year career with Harder Construction after work across several states.
