3 Retire From Abington Police Department

Abington Police honored a retiring police officer and two from the records and operations department.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Abington Township Police Department recently said goodbye to three members who are retiring.

A police officer and two records and operations employees were recently honored for their service to the Abington Township Police Department.

The police department honored retiring Police Officer James Dwyer's 35 years of dedicated and honorable service to the community and the police department.

The police department also bid farewell to Dave Hendler after over 13 years of dedicated service.

Hendler served as director of Records and Operations.

"Dave has been an invaluable member of our department, known for his expertise in records management, CODY systems, and compliance issues," the police department said. "He has also been a committed member of our Command Staff, contributing in many ways. On behalf of everyone at the Abington Township Police Department, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Dave for his unwavering dedication to the people of Abington Township and to our team."

Besides Hendler, the Records and Operations department is also losing Palma Biedermann, who worked full-time there for 21 years. She is also retiring.

"The men and women of the Abington Township Police Department wish Palma many years of health and happiness as she embarks on this next chapter of her life! We know she is looking forward to spending much more time with her grandchildren," the police department said.
