6 Vehicles Broken Into Overnight In Rockledge
Rockledge Borough Police said many of the vehicles also had their windows smashed or broken during the incidents Tuesday into Wednesday.
ROCKLEDGE, PA —Six vehicles were broken into overnight Tuesday into Wednesday with many of them having windows that were broken or smashed, police said.
Rockledge Police Chief John Gallagher said that police reported that most, if not all, vehicles targeted had tinted windows.
The chief said there were two vehicle break-ins on Fox Street, three near North Sylvania and Abington avenues, and one in the 200 block of Robbins Avenue.

Additionally, according to information received from an off-duty officer who lives nearby, there was at least one vehicle broken into along the Loney Street. corridor going into Fox Chase.
Rockledge Police and Philadelphia Police believe these thefts were possibly committed by the same offender(s).

Philadelphia police personnel from the 2nd District have already contacted Rockledge officers to share all intelligence that they had about that theft from vehicles and possible suspect(s).
A police officer saw a man early Wednesday walking on Abington Avenue between North Sylvania Avenue and Park Avenue.
The man was described as about 6 feet tall, wearing a gray-colored, and hooded-style jacket.
However, when the officer drove back around to investigate that male, he was gone. This description was disseminated to all Rockledge officers.
In the meantime, police are asking all residents, business owners, and visitors to report any suspicious-looking activity immediately by dialing 911 right away.
In closing, please target-harden your vehicles by doing the following:
- Park vehicles in private driveways, if available
- Park vehicles in well-lit areas along the street, if possible
- Do not leave valuables in plain sight inside vehicles
- Active vehicle alarm systems, if so equipped
- Use steering wheel locks on vehicles, if available
- Roll up all vehicle windows
- Remove vehicle keys and lock all vehicle doors
- Periodically check on parked vehicles
