The township's pools — Penbryn and Crestmont, are several decades old and have reached their useful life, officials said.
On Feb. 12, the Abington Township Board of Commissioners approved Simone Collins to perform the feasibility study.

Officials said the study is expected to be completed in November.
The study will engage residents on the future of the pool systems while providing needed planning, site design and financial analysis.
The study will also align with the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCNR) Pool Feasibility Scope of Work to enable the Township to apply for DCNR grants for any construction efforts.
