Abington Holding Free Electronics Recycling Event Saturday

ABINGTON, PA — "Anything with a plug" will be accepted at a mostly free electronics recycling event upcoming in Abington.

The event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Abington Township Public Works Facility.

Items that will be accepted for a charge include televisions and computer monitors ($30) and rear projection or wooden console televisions ($100). Batteries, very large appliances, light bulbs, and smoke detectors are among the items that will not be accepted.

Things thing keyboards, microwaves, calculators, cameras, cell phones, and more will be accepted for free.

Food donations for a local food cupboard will also be accepted.

A second event will be held on Feb. 23, at the same time and place.

Public Works is located on 2201 Florey Lane in Abington.
