ABINGTON, PA — Sad news for hot dog lovers in Abington Township and the Montgomery County area: Levis Hot Dogs is shutting down.

Philly.com first reported that the iconic shop would be closing its doors after opening the local branch in 2012.

Eventually products became available in stores and for catering, and the store moved to the suburbs. In addition to hot dogs, Levis is famous for their fish cakes and specialty soda on tap, especially Champ Cherry.

The Abington location, on 966 Old York Road, has reportedly not done good enough business, according to owner Elliot Hirsch.
