What are your qualifications/experience?

I have a masters degree in Public Health from Drexel University. My professional experience includes higher education administration, as well as, health and wellness coordination for various populations. In addition, I am a local youth sports coach, school volunteer, and proud parent to three Abington school district students.

What are three main issues you plan to take on in office?

Academic excellence and opportunity, along with social and emotional wellness for our students creates the base of a great public education system. We need to ensure all students have access to educational opportunities and tools to meet the demands of the world and succeed in and out of the classroom. Particular areas of interests include teaching to the whole student, safety, special education, and technical training offerings. My husband and I chose Abington over 12 years ago, greatly because of its diverse and enriching education system along with its community offerings and fiscally responsible tax structure. I hope to serve to ensure Abington continues to grow to meet the expectations of our residents and community members.

Who are elected official or political/community leaders who inspire you?

Madeline Dean went from a volunteer committee person to local state representative to U.S. congresswoman. She is a mom and a professional and has real life experience that makes her relatable and effective as a representative of the people. In addition, I admire the everyday acts of kindness and service with so many people I interact with in our great community - coaches that provide robust team opportunities for our kids, volunteers at some of our great local service oriented organizations like The Breathing Room, PTO members who are always ready to help kids, teachers, and schools fill gaps, small business owners who support our community and make it special, folks that run the parades, festivals, and seasonal celebrations we all love, and ultimately those small human interactions that make someone else’s day a little better. Abington is filled with community leaders on every level that help this community be a great place to live and thrive.

What are some other personal information details you want voters to know about you ahead of the election?

My life may look similar to many in our district - I am a partner, parent, friend, volunteer, and professional. Since I can remember, I have been driven by a strong sense of service and community. Both to give and contribute to the greater good. In this season of life, it’s all about my kids. I am motivated to help be effective in the ways that are the most impactful right now. We want our children to have opportunities to succeed, safe and enriching experiences, and watch them grow and thrive in and out of our homes. I feel strongly about our education system supporting our children to safely navigate challenging times, create and experience opportunities, grow and move forward. And I don’t want this for just my kids, I want this for all our children. I realize the dynamics of modern parenting isn’t easy and we rely on a community of individuals to fill those gaps when needed. As one of your Abington School District Board of School Directors, I will advocate for our children and serve you and the Abington community as a whole.
