A man was shot twice during a home invasion robbery early Monday morning. Police responded at 1 a.m. Monday to a report of a man shot after a home invasion in the 1800 block of Horace Avenue. Police said the female homeowner said a man entered her home and attempted to steal her purse after she returned home from a casino. Shortly after entering her home, Khabir Shepard pointed a gun at the victim and forced his way inside, pushing the woman to the ground and grabbing her purse from the dining room table, police said. Montco Man Tried To Steal Home From Dead Man's Family: Feds
A Montgomery County man and two Bucks County men were convicted Friday for their actions linked to multiple fraud schemes, including one that involved trying to steal a house from a dead man’s family, federal authorities said. Jonathan Barger, 55, of Huntingdon Valley, and the two Bucks men were charged in a 12-count indictment in January that laid out three different fraud schemes: a scheme to steal a house from a dead man’s family; a scheme to defraud the City of Philadelphia out of property taxes that were due on the stolen house; and a scheme to defraud Barger’s creditors through bankruptcy. Girl Robbed While Waiting For Bus In Montco, Police Say
Three people are wanted for a "strong-arm robbery" at a township bus stop Wednesday morning in which thieves snatched a cell phone from a girl after threatening her. The Cheltenham Township Police Department is investigating the robbery in the 400 block of Asbury Avenue in the township's Melrose Park section around 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Police believe the suspects also attempted similar robberies at two other bus stops. (Read More)
Amazon Fresh Opens 4th PA Store
Amazon Fresh has opened its fourth location in the state —and third in Bucks County. Thursday's opening of Amazon Fresh's Oxford Valley store comes about a month after another supermarket opened on Street Road in Bensalem Township. The new 44,500-square-foot store is located at 2424 Lincoln Highway in Langhorne and be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. (Read More)
Montco Man Pleads Guilty to Election Fraud, Casting Multiple Votes
A Huntington Valley man has pleaded guilty to falsely registering to vote, double voting, and election fraud, federal authorities said. Philip C. Pulley, 62, of Huntington Valley, entered the guilty plea Wednesday before Chief United States District Court Judge Mitchell S. Goldberg, US. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero announced. (Read More)
