Guns, Pound And a Half Found During Search: Abington Police
Luis Villacorta, 28, of Jenkintown, has been charged with felony drug possession, and related crimes, according to Abington Police.

ABINGTON, PA — Police in Abington Township have charged a Jenkintown man after they found guns and more than two pounds of marijuana recently.
Luis Villacorta, 28, of Jenkintown, has been charged with felony drug possession, drug paraphernalia, and related crimes after a traffic stop on Dec. 21.
Police stopped a vehicle with a fraudulent registration on Dec. 21, police said.

During the stop, police searched the vehicle and found nearly a pound of marijuana in the vehicle, as well as drug packaging materials, police said.
Villacorta was then arrested and charged.

Detectives conducted additional investigation that led them to an apartment in the 100 York Road apartment complex.
A search warrant was obtained for the apartment and served on December 23.
Authorities seized an additional one and a half pounds of marijuana, several thousand dollars in cash, and two handguns.
Villacorta is a felon not to possess a firearm, police said.
According to police, the investigation is ongoing and is expected to result in additional charges.
Villacorta was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 8, 2023.
