Jenkintown Wraps Up 4 Years Of EV Charging Station Use
The chargers were installed as a public works project with the Jenkintown Environmental Advisory Committee and the borough's fire marshal.

JENKINTOWN, PA —EV charging stations are quite common in the borough as opposed to some towns in Montgomery County and elsewhere that haven't even added one.
While Horsham has taken strides in the past few years, Hatboro has yet to add the charging stations.
Meanwhile, Jenkintown has been cruising along with station success for the past four years.

The EV charging stations are located in the Leedom Street public parking lot and are available for public use.
The fee schedule to charge an electric vehicle is set at $2.35 per hour (a 4-hour maximum). That fee has the parking fee built into the fee structure so that is the complete fee for charging an EV vehicle at the borough stations.
There is a $0.10 per minute 'idle fee' that would be accessed should the vehicle be left at the EV charger after the charging session expires, officials said.
The chargers were installed as a public works project in conjunction with the Jenkintown Environmental Advisory Committee and the borough's fire marshal.
A large portion of the EV charger acquisition and installation costs were covered by grants the borough was awarded by State and Private grant authorities.
The borough received the PA DEP - Level 2 EV Charging Grant for $9,000 as well as the PECO – Commercial level 2 EV Charger rebate of $500. The $9,500 that was awarded offset the total project cost of $12,314 by 77 percent.
This project collaboration by the Borough EAC, Public Works, Fire Marshal, Parking Enforcement, PECO, PaDep and EVSE LLC made this worthy project a success, and those efforts can not be overstated.
