Longtime Abington Township Detective Retiring

Abington Detective Lt. Steven Fink is retiring and moving on to a position with the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —After 34 years of service, Abington Township Police Detective Lt. Steven Fink is retiring and moving on to a position with the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

Fink was born and raised in the township and is a graduate of Abington High School.

He began his career with the police department in 1991, where he spent years in the patrol and detective divisions.

In April 2000, Fink was promoted to sergeant, the police department said.

During these years, he served in numerous specialty units and leadership roles including Field Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Supervisor of our FTO Unit, DARE Officer, TAC Officer, TAC Team Supervisor/Team Leader, member of the Montgomery County Narcotic Enforcement Team, Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Detective and Detective Sergeant of SIU.

In June 2017, Fink was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

As a member of the department’s command staff, Fink served as a Platoon Commander, Commander of the Patrol Division, and most recently, the Commander of our Detective Division.
