Man With Gun Disarmed By SWAT Team Outside Eastern Montco Wawa
Cheltenham Township Police said the incident took place Tuesday behind the Wyncote Wawa.
EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA —A SWAT team was brought in Tuesday to defuse a situation behind the Wyncote Wawa on Tuesday in which a man was making threats and showed a handgun.
The Cheltenham Township Police Department said at 11 a.m. Tuesday patrol officers located a vehicle parked behind the Wawa at 8250 Limekiln Pike in Wyncote.
Police said the vehicle was wanted in connection to a felony that occurred earlier Tuesday in a neighboring jurisdiction.

The vehicle was occupied by a man and a woman, police said.
The woman exited the vehicle, but the man refused to comply with orders, made threats to police, and brandished a handgun.

The Montgomery County Eastern Region SWAT Team responded and successfully resolved the incident with no injuries.
The man was taken into custody at about 2:15 p.m. Charges are pending at this time.
Police were assisted by the Springfield Township Police Department, Abington Township Police Dept., PA, Whitemarsh Township Police Department, Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, Cheltenham Township Emergency Management and Cheltenham EMS.
