Manor College Moves Online For 2 Weeks Over Coronavirus

Manor College is the latest school to shift to online instruction as coronavirus cases spread in Montgomery County.

JENKINTOWN, PA — Manor College is the latest school to shift to online instruction as new coronavirus cases spread in Montgomery County.

Manor's campus will be closed and classes held online from March 16 through March 27. Residence hall students have until Sunday, March 15 to vacate the premises and return home.

Montgomery County now has 13 presumptive positives of coronavirus, with 21 recorded in the state. Several other local colleges and universities like Bucks County Community College, Gwynedd Mercy University, and Penn State have also closed for around two weeks. West Chester University has shut down for the spring semester.

All campus buildings will be thoroughly cleaned while students are away. All campus events during this time period have been postponed.

"We continue to monitor the developing dynamics associated with this virus and its potential impact on operations at the College," Marc Minnick, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Manor, said in a statement. "While there have been no confirmed COVID-19 cases with a connection to Manor, we are taking the precautionary steps across campus to assist in keeping members of our Manor community healthy."
