2 Bucks Co. Men Tried To Steal Home From Dead Man's Family: Feds

Two Bucks County men and a Montgomery County man were convicted Friday for their actions linked to multiple fraud schemes, including one that involved trying to steal a house from a dead man’s family, federal authorities said. Derrell Johnson, 42, of Bensalem, and Alan Kane, 59, of Jamison, were convicted by a federal jury, U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero said. A Montgomery County man was also involved in the schemes. A fourth man, Joseph Ruggiero, was also involved but wasn't included in the indictment because he died in June 2020. (Read More)

Amazon Fresh Opens 4th PA Store

Amazon Fresh has opened its fourth location in the state —and third in Bucks County. Thursday's opening of Amazon Fresh's Oxford Valley store comes about a month after another supermarket opened on Street Road in Bensalem Township. The new 44,500-square-foot store is located at 2424 Lincoln Highway in Langhorne and be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. (Read More)

$28K Stolen In McDonald's Payroll Fraud In Falls Twp.

Two township men have been charged in an alleged scam in which they forged and altered payroll records at the McDonald's on West Trenton Avenue. Falls Township Police said their investigation began when the operator of the fast food restaurant in the township's Morrisville section noticed discrepancies in the payroll earlier this year when checks appeared to have been cashed before their official issue dates. Romual Marquis Augustin, 19, and Alterrah Razhon Brown were charged after the investigation found that 36 checks issued between May 26, 2023, and Feb. 2 were altered to include watermarks—a security feature not used by the payroll company. Pennsbury School Bus Struck In Falls Township Crash

A Pennsbury school bus was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Makefield Avenue after the driver of the other vehicle fell asleep and crossed into oncoming traffic, police said. Falls Township Police responded at 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday to the 100 block of Makefield Road to investigate a two-vehicle traffic accident involving a Pennsbury school bus. Police said no students were on the bus at the time of the crash and neither driver was injured. (Read More)

Lower Bucks Bridge Renamed After Fallen Sailor

The Route 213 bridge over the Neshaminy Creek now has a new name, dedicated to a fallen soldier. The bridge is now named after Ensign Sarah Mitchell Memorial Bridge during a ceremony on Monday in honor of the lifelong township resident and Neshaminy High School graduate. Mitchell lost her life during a training exercise while serving as an ensign in the U.S. Navy in Jordan on July 8, 2018, at the age of 23. State Rep. Joe Hogan along with Sen. Frank Farry’s support, introduced legislation to formally dedicate this bridge to Ensign Mitchell. (Read More)
