SEPTA Work Could Impact Abington Traffic Saturday

SEPTA's work to replace regional rail tracks could create significantly longer wait times at rail crossings in Abington Saturday.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Traffic in Abington Township could be impacted this weekend by SEPTA track work, the township said.

Starting at 5 a.m. Saturday, SEPTA will be unloading a train carrying continuous welded rail as part of a project to replace rails on the Warminster Regional Rail Line.

Work is expected to last 10 hours Saturday.

The work area is just north of Roslyn Station to just north of Warminster Station.

During the work, vehicles at track crossings may see significantly longer wait times due to the 2,000-foot length of the work train and the need for it to move at a slow speed to accommodate the work being performed.

The shuttle bus stop for Crestmont Station will be at the corner of Rockwell Road and Rubicam Avenue, according to Abington Township.

Other municipalities affected are Upper Moreland, Warminster, and Hatboro.
