Township officials said there should never be trash mixed in with any recycling.

"Putting trash in the recycling carts is contaminating our recycling and jeopardizing our entire recycling program," officials said. "The consequences of trash in recycling will result in increased trash/recycling fees. The success of our recycling program is dependent upon the active participation of all of our residents. Please only place paper and cardboard in the gray cart. Thank you."

Anyone who has additional trash that does not fit into green trash cans can either get a larger trash can or an additional one.
