$2M Powerball Winner In PA, As CA Player Takes $1.76B Jackpot
Pennsylvania didn't hit the jackpot, but one player did take home a sizable prize from the historic Powerball drawing Wednesday.
PENNSYLVANIA — A Pennsylvania lottery player reaching for the $1.76 billion Powerball jackpot on Wednesday night was close enough to score a smaller prize, winning $2 million as a ticket in California landed the much-coveted purse.
The winning numbers in the drawing Oct. 11 were white balls 22, 24, 40, 52, 64 and a red Power Ball of 10. The Power Play multiplier was 2X. Wednesday night's jackpot was the second-largest jackpot in Powerball history, only behind the $2.04 billion jackpot hit last November (also in California)
The Bucks County player matched all five white balls, but not the Power Ball, which earned them $1 million — and because they had purchased the Power Play option, that amount doubled.

The Pennsylvania Lottery said the winner purchased their ticket at American News & Tobacco, 522 Second St. Pike in Southampton. The retailer will get a $10,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket.
Also, a player who bought their ticket online in Allegheny County won $100,000 in Wednesday's drawing, by matching four of the five white balls drawn and the Power Ball, the state lottery continued.

California's jackpot winner will have the choice between getting the estimated $1.765 billion prize paid out over time, or a lump sum payment of $774.1 million (before taxes).
“Congratulations to the newest Powerball billionaire and the millions of Powerball players who won other cash prizes in last night’s drawing,” said Drew Svitko, Powerball Product Group Chair and Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director. “For 31 years, some players who have dreamed about winning a Powerball jackpot have defied the odds, and in doing so, have helped generate critical funding for public services and programs supported by U.S. lotteries."
In the Keystone State, lottery proceeds support older Pennsylvanians.
