$33 Million Owed In PA To Those With 'Hot Dog' Names
The state's treasury department says a massive amount of wealth is owed to those with names that have some correlation to hot dogs.
PENNSYLVANIA — The state of Pennsylvania may owe up to $33 million in unclaimed property to residents with names that have a coorelation to hot dogs, the treasury department announced.
All told, some 230,000 residents who have a "frankfurter-like" name or business are owed, officials say.
Those names and words include everything from Oscar, Mayer, Frank, and Nathan, to hot, dog, bun, mustard, ketchup, beef, pork, baseball, and Wienermobile.

“Anytime you catch up with the news these days, it seems like there’s nothing we can all agree on,” Treasurer Stacy Garrity said. “But I hope everyone can relish the idea of beefing up your bank account with some unclaimed property."
Unclaimed property includes things like dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, old stocks, insurance policies, abandoned safe deposit boxes, and more.
