5 Things To Do In Pennsylvania This Weekend

Check out five things to do in the Keystone State this Father's Day weekend, including live music and some time in the great outdoors.

PENNSYLVANIA —Looking to get out of the house on Saturday and Sunday? This Father’s Day weekend —and with Juneteenth on Monday and Pride Month still going on — there are quite a few things to do in the Keystone State.

Patch rounded up five events on the calendar in Pennsylvania, from fishing and kayaking with Dad to concerts and celebrations of Juneteenth.

Father’s Day Fishing, Delaware County

Linvilla Orchards in Media is hosting a fishing event for dads, father figures, and kids to celebrate Father’s Day. Dads fish for free with a paid child’s admission. No fishing license is required, and you may bring your own rods and bait or rent some there.

There is always something to do at Pennsylvania's state parks, and a relaxing paddle around Doubling Gap Lake might be something Dad would like. Reservations are available Sunday at 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m.

Music Off Main Summer Concert Series, Yardley

The borough's free, family-friendly outdoor music series kicked off earlier this month and is back for its 8th season, albeit in a new location. James Day and the Fish Fry will serve up the sizzling sounds of New Orleans, including cajun zydeco music. The show is Saturday from 6-8 p.m.

Taylor Swift and Juneteenth, Pittsburgh

It’s Pittsburgh’s turn for a run of the Eras Tour, which coincides with some big Juneteenth celebrations.

Juneteenth celebrations, Philly area

There will also be a Juneteenth Parade and Festival in West Philadelphia all day Sunday, and a Juneteenth block party at The African American Museum in Philadelphia, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday.

Bucks County has a slate of events for Juneteenth at Washington Crossing Historic Park on Saturday, including a lecture on Black soldiers of the American Revolution and a free outdoor concert by jazz vocalist Joyce Simpson and The Quake Band.

Chester County has outdoor tours of the Underground Railroad and Uptown West Chester, as well as a Juneteenth festival in West Chester. Check out this article for other Juneteenth events in Chesco.
