The Ultimate July 4 Fireworks Guide For Suburban Philly

Where to watch fireworks and celebrate a special Fourth of July throughout the Philadelphia area.

Dozens of fireworks celebrations and parades are planned around the greater Philadelphia area for this Fourth of July and the American semiquincentennial.

Patch has put together a comprehensive list of fireworks and related celebrations from throughout the five- county region, covering the city along with Bucks, Chester, Montgomery, and Delaware counties.

Montgomery County

Norristown

Norristown's annual Independence Day Parade will begin at 1 p.m. on July 4.

Grand Marshal Rick Prete will lead the parade from the corner of Airy and DeKalb streets to Elmwood Park.

At 3 p.m., there will be a party in the park including food vendors, games, face painting, caricatures, live music, and family events. Live performances will include M.A.F.I.A.• Crank Caviar, The Gentlemen of Soul, and Suede Lace.

Fireworks are scheduled at dusk.

Lower Providence

Fireworks start at dusk on July 4 for Lower Providence's 30th annual All American Fireworks Show at Eagleville Park.

A celebration will begin at 7:30 p.m. with music from Soundsational DJ.

Attendees should bring lawn chairs and snacks.

Parking will be available at Streamlight Field and the football field at Eagleville Park. Handicap parking will be located at the library parking lot and lower township Building lot.

Conshohocken

Conshy's event will be the night before, July 3, at about 9:15 p.m.

Fireworks will be shot from Sutcliffe Park, but the park itself and the immediately surrounding area will be closed during the event.

"Due to the larger size of fireworks, a wider safety perimeter surrounding the discharge zone is required," the borough shared in a statement. "As such, Sutcliffe Park and surrounding areas will be closed to the public during the event."

The display will be larger this year, so that more fireworks will be visible from "as many vantage points as possible throughout the borough."

Upper Merion

The annual Upper Merion celebration will be held at Heuser Park in King of Prussia on July 4, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The event will feature a carnival with rides and games from event coordinator Tons of Fun.

Food and beverage sales will begin at 4:30 p.m. The band SideArm will perform live at 5:30 p.m.

Fireworks will be held at dusk.

Ambler

The Kiwanis Club of Ambler will host their annual fireworks carnival and celebration from June 30 to July 4.

The event will be held at Wissahickon High School from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for those five nights.

The main fireworks event is set for Thursday, July 2 at dusk, with a rain date for July 3.

Carnival rides, games, food, and more are available. Unlimited ride wristbands are $30. Individual ride tickets start at $1.25.

Pottstown

The annual GoFourth Festival will be held on July 4 in Memorial Park, located on 75 W. King Street, from 3:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, hot air balloon rides, living history enactments and interactions, and more.

Fireworks will mark the finale of the evening at around 9:30 p.m.

Limerick

Waltz Golf Farm will host their annual show on 303 W. Ridge Pike in Limerick on July 4.

The celebration begins at 6 p.m. and will continue until 9:45 p.m., when fireworks are scheduled.

Skippack

Skippack Village will host their annual parade at 11 a.m. on July 4, on a two mile route along Skippack Pike.

A barbecue will be held at Parc Bistro.

Evening celebrations begin at 6 p.m. at Palmer Park, on 4022 Heckler Road, with live music and more. Fireworks are at dusk, usually around 9-9:30 p.m.

Glenside

Abington Township will host the annual Glenside Patriotic Association Celebration on July 4.

The event begins at 10 a.m. with a Children's Morning Program held at Renninger Memorial Park. The Grand, Glorious, Patriotic Parade will be held on a 1.5-mile stretch through Glenside at 4 p.m.

At 8 p.m., the 28th Infantry Division Band of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard will play at Abington Senior High School.

The America the Beautiful Aerial Fireworks Spectacular held at Abington Junior and Senior High Schools is set for dusk.

Garrett Hill-Rosemont July 4th Parade

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., judging at 10 a.m., opening ceremonies and parade at 10:45 a.m., food and entertainment at Clem Macrone Park at noon. The parade begins at Conestoga and Williams roads in Radnor.

Fourth of July Crafternoon at Gladwyne Library

The Gladwyne Library's Junior Room will host the event on July 2, from 2-4 p.m.

Ardmore

The South Ardmore Betterment Alliance's parade starts at 10 a.m., with a celebration at Elwell Field planned from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. The parade travels from Chestnutwold Elementary School (630 Lorraine St., Ardmore) to Elwell Field.

The Ardmore 250 Community Celebration is set for July 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A mural ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. at HeartBreath Yoga Studio (201 Simpson Rd., Ardmore); freedom walk to Linwood Park at 10:30 a.m.; crafts, cookies and cupcakes for kids at Linwood Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Narberth

Narberth's July 4th Family Fun & Fireworks have daytime events from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., evening events begin at 6:30 p.m., with fireworks at dusk at Narberth Park.

Bala Cynwyd

The Fourth of July Celebration starts at 9:30 a.m. with the parade from the Union Fire House (149 Montgomery Ave., Bala Cynwyd). At 10:30 a.m., a brief patriotic ceremony will be held at Bala Cynwyd Playground, followed by activities at Bala Cynwyd Park.

Penn Wynne

The Independence Day Celebration in Penn Wynne will held at Penn Wynne-Overbrook Hills Fire Company, on 1440 Manoa Road, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Chester County

Phoenixville

Phoenixville's celebration will be held on July 4 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Phoenixville Recreation Center and Pat Nattle Field.

Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.

A wide variety of local food trucks will be on hand, along with DJ Spin Therapist.

The night before, downtown Phoenixville will host its monthly First Friday event on July 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Downingtown

Downingtown's Good Neighbor Day will be held at Kerr Park on July 4.

The 46th annual event includes a road race, Brandywine boat races, a carnival with rides, games, and food, and much more.

Fireworks will be held at dusk, between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Tredyffrin

Wilson Farm Park will host a 4th of July celebration from 7 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., with fireworks at dusk.

Just For Fun DJ Joe Griffith will be on hand.

Guests should bring lawn chairs and blankets. Numerous food trucks will be on hand including Dallas French Fries, Epicurean Garage, Dominic's Tavern, JT Wilder BBQ, Sabatino's, Carmona Mobile Foods, Mr. Softee, Scrape and Scoop Ice Cream, Philly Funnel Cake, Cakeposer, and Kona Ice.

Bucks County

Southampton

The Southampton Days Fair will be held from June 30 to July 5, at at 1351 Second Street Pike.

Numerous family activities, concerts, games, rides, community events, and more are scheduled.

The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. on July 4. See details on the event here.

Middletown Tonwship

The Middletown Independence Day Celebration And Fireworks will be held on Friday, July 3 beginning at 4 p.m. (fee) at Styer Orchard.

New Hope/Lambertville

The 3-Day America 250th Celebration And Fireworks is set for July 3, 4 and 5.

Washington Crossing

The Living History At Washington Crossing Park event will begin on Saturday, July 4 at 4 p.m. Fireworks are set for 8 p.m.

Doylestown

The Old-Fashioned Fourth Of July At Fonthill starts at noon on July 4.

New Britain

The Tri-Municipal Fourth Of July Parade begins at 9:30 a.m.

Langhorne

The Sesame Place Fireworks day-long celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with fireworks at dusk.

Styer Orchards, meanwhile, will host an evening of music, food, beer from Aristaeus Brewing, games for the kids, and of course, fireworks. Adult tickets are $10 and children under 18 are $7.60. The fireworks will begin at 9 p.m., and if necessary, the rain date is July 5th.

Trevose

Tree Trail Adventures will host a special event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 4. "Glow in the Park" begins at 6 p.m.

Delaware County

Radnor

The township's America250 Spectacular starts 6:30 p.m. at Radnor High School. Fireworks are set for dusk.

Media

The 250 Under the Stars will take place on State Street on July 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. More info here.

The Fourth of July event is at Barall Field from 10 a.m. to noon.

On July 4, the Delaware County Historical Society Summer Open House will take place at 9 W. Front Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Upper Darby

The township's America 250 celebration and fireworks are set for July 2 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast Field.

Sharon Hill

A celebration begins on July 3 at 7 p.m. at 300 Calcon Road. Fireworks will go off at 9 p.m.

Upper Providence Township

America's 250th Birthday event will be held on July 4 in Rose Tree Park, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The park is located on 1521 N. Providence Road in Media.
