Artisan Market, Veterans' Flag Display, Irish Fest: 5 Events In PA This Weekend

We've gathered five highlights from a packed weekend of events in the Keystone State.

PENNSYLVANIA — With the air quality clearing and sun in the forecast, Pennsylvania residents may be searching for something to do this weekend.

Patch gathered five upcoming highlights from a packed calendar of events in the Keystone State, including a motorcycle rally, returning Irish festival, eclectic market, arts festival, and drag brunch. And, there is one popular BBQ and bourbon event happening Tuesday that made the list.

Havertown Irish Festival: Saturday, 12-8 p.m.

The fifth annual Irish Festival will feature a beer garden, live music by over 20 performers, a village for crafters and artisans, food, kids' fun, and more. Admission is free, and so is parking in certain areas. It will be held rain or shine.

The festival is in a new location this year at the school district's administration building (50 East Eagle Road). (Read more on Patch.)

McConkey’s Market, Washington Crossing: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

One-of-a kind artisan gifts for yourself or someone else at this event at Washington Crossing Historic Park. Admission is free to enter. The market features live music and several food vendors alongside a mix of vendors selling pottery, up-cycled items, crafts, collectibles, and reclaimed furniture.

McConkey’s Market takes its name from the park’s McConkey Ferry Inn, parts of which date back to 1750. Tradition has it that George Washington ate at the inn before he crossed the Delaware River. (Read more on Patch.)

Three Rivers Arts Festival, Pittsburgh: Ends June 11, times vary.

Ten days of concerts, activities, shopping and events wraps up Sunday in the Steel City. Outdoor displays, juried shows, performances, music, and late-night parties are all going on, both inside and outside, around the city's downtown cultural district.

Motorcycle rally and Jesse E Hill Flag Memorial, Levittown: June 9-11, times vary.

Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans have events this weekend as part of the 38th Jesse E Hill Flag Memorial. The display contains more than 65,000 American flags in the shape and size of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.

There is a free concert and day of reflection Saturday, with bands beginning at noon. On Sunday, a motorcycle rally starts at noon at American Legion. Ceremonies will follow the arrival at the park with the Repatriation Ceremony starting at 1 p.m. (Read more on Patch)

Brunch is a Drag, Malvern: June 11, 12:30 p.m.

Brunch patrons are snapping up tickets for this event, featuring a number of area drag queens whose performances will be inspired by "the fiercest Pop & LGBT Icons throughout the years."

Limited spots are available as of Friday afternoon for the festivities Sunday afternoon, with seating beginning at 11 a.m. The Chester County Pride Festival is Saturday in Phoenixville as well to commemorate LGBTQ+ Pride Month. (Read more on Patch.)

Bubby's Cook-Off, Newtown: June 13, 6 p.m.

Bubby’s Cook-Off, a premier barbecue and bourbon event, returns to the streets of Newtown Borough this upcoming Tuesday after a four-year absence.

The interactive charity event is focused on raising funds to extend a helping hand to children with special needs, involving them in a full range of social experiences.
The event will see four award-winning chefs from Philadelphia and New York face off against each other. (Read more on Patch)
