Charges Filed Against Teen Who Put 11 Needles In PA Grocery Items: Police
The teen employee, who has not been identified by police because he is a minor, faces multiple counts.
EASTERN PA — Charges have officially been filed against the teenage employee of an eastern Pennsylvania grocery store that hid sewing needles inside food products, sending local residents and shoppers into a frenzy.
The teen, who has since been fired by Giant supermarket and has not been identified by police because he was a minor, faces two misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person.

The incidents occurred at the Lower Macungie Township Giant supermarket, located on 7150 Hamilton Boulevard. The teen will be prosecuted in Lehigh County Juvenile Court.
The ongoing investigation has revealed 11 needles hidden inside items, authorities said.

Customers with Giant rewards cards have been contacted, state police said, and authorities are warning anyone who shopped at the store between Thursday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 19 to check their items for any needles.
Tampered items include Hawaiian bread rolls, StarKist Light tuna, Tastykakes, fresh bagged green beans, loose sweet yellow and white onions, fresh green asparagus, soft packaged dog food and treats, soft packaged cat food and treats, instant mashed potatoes, and cleaning sponges.
