Child Shoots, Kills Relative In PA Deer Hunting Accident: Report
The man was reportedly standing some 300 yards away when the child missed.
PENNSYLVANIA — A man is reportedly dead after being shot and killed by a child relative during a deer hunting accident in Pennsylvania recently.
The incident occurred at around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27 in Cambria County, authorities said.
William Tripp, 71, of Elizabethtown, was out hunting with the child, family, and friends, according to WJAC 6.

The child shot at a deer but missed, and the bullet struck Tripp, who stood some 300 yards away, the report states.
The group was near a gas line off Buckhorn Road in Jackson Township.

Tripp was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
State Police and the Pennsylvania Game Commission assisted in the investigation.
