The man had originally gone under the knife for a foot ulcer, a lawsuit states.
PENNSYLVANIA — A doctor is suing another doctor after what a lawsuit claims is a botched surgery last summer ended in a leg amputation in Pennsylvania.
The suit was filed in Luzerne County by Dr. Mario Adajar of Wyoming, who levied the accusations against Dr. Michael Baloga Jr., the Foot and Ankle Center in West Pittston, and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
The suit, first reported by the Citizens Voice in northeastern Pennsylvania, cites "catastrophic permanent injuries."

It's unclear exactly what caused the treatment to go wrong, but the suit claims that there were several treatments over the course of months, including "debriding" of the wound.
A cast was placed over the wound, and an infection soon developed and turned into gangrene, the Morning Call reports.
