PENNSYLVANIA — With the U.S. Supreme Court reportedly poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, according to a draft majority opinion leaked to Politico Monday, abortion access in Pennsylvania will become wholly dependent on state and local legislation.
Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf has already vowed to veto any bill restricting abortion that reaches his desk in Pennsylvania, but he's only in office for the remainder of the year.

The future of such a bill — which would stand a strong chance of passing the Republican-dominated legislature in Pennsylvania — will likely hinge on the outcome of the 2022 gubernatorial election.
That election will feature Democratic Attorney General Josh Shapiro line up against one of a slew of Republican candidates.

"Abortion is and will remain legal in Pennsylvania," Gov. Wolf shared on Twitter Monday night, as news of the leaked document began circulating around the Internet.
Wolf added that "an official ruling has not yet been made. Once #SCOTUS does rule, it's up to states to pass legislation to change abortion laws. I'll veto any anti-choice legislation that lands on my desk."
