DA: Alleged Whitpain Armed Bank Robber Has Been Captured

A man charged with armed robbery of three banks in Montgomery County between 2010 and 2012 was arrested Thursday, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.

Joseph Mieluchowski, of Kennett Square, is suspected to be behind robberies at the following three Montgomery County locations, according to the DA:

• 5/12/2010 -The Citizens Bank, 48 W. Skippack Pike, Whitpain Township, Pennsylvania
• 6/26/2010 -The Royal Bank, 600 York Road, Jenkintown
• 2/5/2012 -The Citizens Bank, 48 W. Skippack Pike, Whitpain Township, Pennsylvania

The investigation also revealed that Mieluchowski committed two other armed robberies in Pennsylvania, according to the DA:

• 11/18/2009- The PNC Bank located at 8931 Route 30 in North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania
• 5/27/2011- The Susquehanna Bank located at 790 Route 41 in Gap, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

Other agencies and individuals involved in the investigation and arrest included Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck, Lancaster County District Attorney Craig W. Stedman, Whitpain Township Police Chief Kenneth Lawson, Jenkintown Borough Police Chief Albert DiValentino, the Delaware State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation--Delaware, Pennsylvania State Police--Lancaster, and North Huntingdon Township Police Chief Andrew Lisiecki.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 23, the DA said.
