American Cancer Society Relay for Life

The 2011 Relay for Life of Wissahickon Valley will begin at 10 a.m., May 21, through 10 a.m., May 22 at Wissahickon High School.

The Relay for Life is a life-changing event, giving everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones, and fight back against the disease. At the Relay, teams of people camp out at Wissahickon High School and take turns walking or running around the track. Each team is asked to have at least one representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relay is a 24-hour event.

There are 61 teams at the Wissahickon Valley Relay, who have raised close to $140,000 so far.
