Final Touch Barber Shop Spearheading Drive for Residents Affected by Flooding
Food, water, school supplies among items needed by residents affected and displaced by flooding in Ambler.
Ron Curtis, owner of in Ambler was sweeping mud out of his shop on Thursday when he thought, “[I’m] so blessed to only have mud.” He said, “I always thought I was untouchable.”
He turned on the news and saw the other areas of Ambler that were : people out of their homes, “toys floating in the water,” and he said “it killed me….it killed my spirit.”
Curtis said he didn’t go down to the affected areas, he only saw the images on the news, but he knew he had to do something for his neighbors that needed help now.

“I’m not waiting for … signatures,” he said.
So, Curtis put a post on Facebook looking for clean clothes, toys and food for those displaced. He said the donations went from one bag of clothes to 100 bags of clothes. He also has people from as far away as Philadelphia calling to see what residents need.

came through this afternoon with a good deal on pizzas so Curtis could send displaced resident’s lunch.
He said the residents need fresh water and juice as well as food; the children also need school supplies. Many of the people don’t have electricity so prepared foods are ideal. Clothes were donated in droves, and are no longer needed.
The whole community is coming together to help those displaced and affected by the flooding said Curtis. “If we come together as one we can do it. … This is God’s work.”
Curtis added that residents and businesses that wish to get involved and donate items can call Final Touch Barber Shop at 215-641-1883 or just bring items by to shop at 91 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler.
