As part of the project, new station and high level platforms, all of which will be ADA accessible, will be constructed.

Other aspects of the project include:
- Ensure that passenger amenities at bus and rail transportation facilities are safe and attractive;
- Continue to provide a safe, convenient, and efficient multi-modal transportation system (Township and regional-basis);
- Improve commuter access for all modes of transportation to reduce the number of transit users who drive to the station and provide ADA accommodations at transit stations and bus stops utilized by residents; and
- Actively advocate for continued service on all Amtrak and Septa rail lines.
The station itself will remain open during the work
A 500-space parking garage is also planned for the station, however funding is being sought for that aspect of the project, according to officials.
