Saquon Barkley Home Invasion Update: Man Accused Of Burglarizing 3 Main Line Homes

TREDYFFRIN, PA — Weeks after a reported burglary at Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley's house in Tredyffrin, a man accused of a break-in in the neighborhood at that time has been arrested.

Jabir Parker is accused of burglarizing three Main Line homes in the span of a month, culminating with a burglary on the morning of July 18 in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin.

He also stole nearly $800,000 worth of jewelry from homes in Bryn Mawr and Wynnewood — both in Lower Merion — according to the Mongtomery County District Attorney's Office.

Additional suspects in these burglaries are being sought.

In all three incidents linked to Parker, the suspect(s) forced entry into the Main Line homes during the overnight hours, authorities said.

On June 22, 12 pieces of jewelry worth an estimated $106,700 were stolen from a home in Bryn Mawr. Then, 28 jewelry items worth an estimated $678,292 were taken July 5 from a home in Wynnewood.

The residents weren't home during either incident.

In Tredyffrin, authorities say the homeowners interrupted a burglary at around 5:10 a.m. July 18. Nothing was stolen.

Tredyffrin Township Police reported an invasion of Barkley's home in the Malvern neighborhood at that time. Police said no similar incidents were reported in the area that morning.

In Wednesday's announcement of Parker's arrest, the District Attorney's Office did not mention Barkley by name.

"We do not identify victims of burglaries or the exact locations where the burglaries occurred in order to protect the victims," a spokesperson for the DA's Office said. "That information has been redacted from the criminal complaint."

The DA's Office says Parker rented a white GMC Yukon Denali in July, which he returned about 90 minutes after the Tredyffrin home invasion. Photos of this make and model resemble the white SUV that Tredyffrin Police said was present during the invasion of Barkley's home.

A few days later, Barkley told NBC Sports Philadelphia he felt "shaken up" by the incident. But he was thankful that his family is OK and nothing was taken.

"The scenario that happened was the best way," Barkley said. "If it happened like that 10 times — because my boy was there, my family was there — and nobody ended up getting hurt. Nothing ended up being taken. You can't really get a better situation."

Parker is charged with multiple felonies, including burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal trespass, theft and related offenses.

Lower Merion Police arrested him Tuesday with help from FBI SWAT, State Police, Philadelphia Police and the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, officials said. No other details about the circumstances of his arrest were immediately available.

Parker remains jailed in Montgomery County after failing to post $1 million bail. He's set to return to court Sept. 10 for a preliminary hearing.
