Assault, Burglary, Thefts, More: Lower Merion Crime Blotter

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion Township released about a week's worth of crime incidents that occurred across the township.

The incidents occurred between Aug. 21 and Aug. 29.

Aug. 29

Burglary (Bryn Mawr) - Vacant house had a rear window broken out and entered by a female actor. Actor, activated the alarm system and cameras by exiting the front door and fleeing in an unknown vehicle. At this time appears jewelry was taken from the house.

Aug. 26

Theft from Vehicle (Ardmore) - A new vehicle at a dealership had parking sensors and lug nuts stolen off the vehicle overnight. Actor seen on camera fleeing the scene but unable to be located.

Theft of Purse (Ardmore) - Victim had her phone and wallet stolen out the top of her shopping cart at a local grocery store. No one suspicious was observed.

Theft of Purse (Ardmore) - Victim had her cell phone stolen out of her purse, which was located in the top of her shopping cart. Victim reported that she was distracted by a male who suddenly caused her to stop pushing her cart, and a female who brushed quickly past her. It was a short time after this, she noticed the phone missing.

Aug. 24

Assault (Bala Cynwyd) - Actor forced his way into a business to confront a known party. Actor assaulted a known party and officers who were attempting to take him into custody.

Aug. 23

Burglary (Haverford) - Local business had the rear door broken and forced open. 2 actors were seen fleeing the scene, one of which was later taken into custody by Officers. Approximately $1,300 in merchandise taken from the store.

Burglary (Haverford) - While checking the previous burglary, a second business was found with the basement door forced open. Basement did not provide access into the main portion of the business.

Aug. 21

Robbery (Bala Cynwynd) - Convenience store robbed at gun point by a male actor. Cash and cigarettes stolen by the actor.
