Burglaries, Robberies, Thefts, More: Lower Merion Crime Blotter

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police released details on crimes that have occurred in Lower Merion Township recently.

Incidents detailed occurred between Dec. 14 and Dec. 24.

Dec. 24

• Theft of Bicycles (Merion Station) - Victim had 3 bicycles removed from a detached garage while on vacation. The investigation is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Merion Station) - Victim's Volkswagen, which was parked along the street in front of their residence was entered and gone through while the victim was on vacation. The investigation is continuing.
• Burglary (Merion Station) - Commercial property was entered by forcing an exterior window. Cash boxes were removed by the actor(s). The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Dec. 22

• Robbery (Ardmore) - Actor removed multiple items from a store in Suburban Square. Upon trying to flee, struck an employee with their car and then fled from the scene. The investigation is continuing.
• Burglary (Villanova) - Officers responding to a security alarm discovered glass to a side door was broken and force to other doors as well. Heavy ransacking was in the master bedroom of the residence. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Burglary (Gladwyne) - Homeowners late reported that multiple actors were inside their residence as they were out of state. Officers on scene discovered a broken window to the rear of the property. Heavy ransacking was located within the residence. The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Dec. 21

• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim's unlocked Toyota was entered and rummaged through while parked in the street in front of their residence. Unknown time frame as the victim was away. Investigation continuing.

Dec. 20

• Robbery (Bala Cynwyd) - Actor entered a commercial business and pointed a gun at the employee working, telling the employee to open the register. Then left the scene in an unknown direction. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Penn Valley) - Victim's unlocked Audi was entered and rummaged through overnight was parked along the street in front of their residence. Surveillance video observes an actor enter the vehicle and then leave. The investigation into this incident is continuing.

Dec. 18

• Attempt Theft of Vehicle (Greenhill Farms) - Victim discovered that the drivers side door lock and steering column, of his Hyundai sedan, had been tampered with. Victim's vehicle was parked in front of his daughter's residence at this time. The investigation is continuing.

Dec. 16

• Robbery-Armed Carjacking (Haverford) – Victim was approached by three actors who demanded their car keys and phone, while pointing a gun at the victim. The actors fled in the victim’s vehicle and the victim followed in another stolen that was vehicle left by the actors. Several shots were fired at the vehicle driven by the victim while he was following the offenders. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) – Victim’s unlocked Toyota was entered and gone through overnight while parked in their driveway. A laptop and bag were removed from the vehicle. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft of Wallet (Ardmore) – Victim reported that on Dec. 15 her wallet was removed from her jacket, which was hanging on the back of her chair. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Ardmore) – Victim reported that on Dec. 15 her vehicle’s trunk was entered while parked at a shopping center. A laptop and other items were removed from the trunk. The investigation is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Penn Wynne) – Victim’s unlocked Subaru was entered and rummaged through overnight while parked in their driveway. No known loss at this time. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) – Victim’s unlocked Subaru was entered and rummaged through overnight was parked along the street in front of their residence. No known loss at this time. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Penn Wynne) – Victim’s unlocked Toyota was entered and rummaged through overnight while parked along the street outside of the victim’s residence. The victim’s registration card and insurance card were removed from the vehicle. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
• Theft of Wallet (Ardmore) – Victim’s wallet was removed from their purse while shopping at a local grocery store. The victim advised that their purse was placed in the top of their shopping cart. The investigation is continuing.

Dec. 15

• Theft of Wallet (Ardmore) – Victim’s wallet was removed from their purse while dining at a local restaurant. The victim’s purse was slung over the back of her chair. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Dec. 14

• Theft from Vehicle (Belmont Hills) - Victim's unlocked Jeep was entered overnight and rummaged through overnight. Loose change and cash was removed from the vehicle. Investigation is continuing.
• Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim's unlocked Volvo was entered and rummaged through overnight while parked in the street in front of their residence. At this time it does not appear that anything has been stolen from the vehicle.
• Theft from Vehicle (Belmont Hills) - Victim's unlocked Mitsubishi was entered and rummaged through overnight while parked in the street in front of their residence. At this time it does not appear that anything has been stolen from the vehicle.
• Theft from Vehicle (Belmont Hills) - Victim's unlocked vehicle was entered and rummaged through overnight. There does not appear to be anything stolen from the vehicle at this time.
• Theft from Vehicle (Merion Station) - Victim reported that an actor entered the rear of his catering company's box truck and removed a plastic bag containing items and fled in an unknown direction.
