Burglary, Stolen Vehicles, Purse Theft: Lower Merion Crime Blotter

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion issued details on recent crimes in the township.
The incidents occurred between June 7 and June 16.

June 16
- Theft of Purse (Ardmore) - Victim reported that while dining at a local restaurant their left their purse uncovered and unsecured in the top of a stroller and when they returned to the stroller their wallet was no longer in the purse. The investigation into this incident is continuing.

- Theft of Vehicle (Penn Valley) - Victim reported that their Infiniti was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the overnight hours. Broken glass was located in the parking space where the vehicle had been located. The investigation into this incident is continuing
- Theft of Vehicle (Penn Valley) - Victim reported that their Dodge was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the overnight hours. Broken glass was located in the parking space where the vehicle had been parked. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
- Theft from Vehicle (Penn Valley) - Victim reported that the sunroom of their Infiniti was broken out and cash was stolen from the interior of the vehicle. The theft occurred in the overnight hours while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
June 12
- Theft of Wallet (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim reported that while eating outside at a local restaurant a female actor was observed leaning close to her chair. Upon checking the victim reported that their purse was now open and their wallet was missing. Victim stated she confronted the female who returned the wallet and 2 credit cards and left in an unknown direction. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
June 11
- Theft of Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that during the overnight hours ,their Hyundai had a passenger side window broken out and the steering column tampered with in an attempt to steal the vehicle. The vehicle was parked along the street in front of the residence during this time. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
June 9
- Theft of Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that their Kia was stolen in the overnight hours while parked along the street in front of the residence. Broken glass was found along the street where the vehicle had been located. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
June 8
- Burglary (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that contractors observed a male subject attempting to force open a rear sliding door. Upon observing the contractors the male subject fled in an unknown direction.
- Theft of Bicycle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that a bicycle was removed from under the deck and located at the rear of the property by the guest house. Victim stated that noises were heard from the back of the property in the overnight hours. The investigation is continuing.
- Criminal Trespass (Wynnewood) - Possible actor from above burglary was observed inside a building on a school campus. A check of the area was negative for the actor, however multiple items belonging to various victims was located in a building on the school grounds.
- Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that their unlocked Land Rover was entered and gone through overnight while parked in the driveway. It appears this incident is linked to the above incidents. Investigation into all incidents is continuing.
- Theft from Vehicle (Wynnewood) - Victim reported that their unlocked BMW was entered and gone through overnight while parked in the driveway. It appears that this incident is linked to the above incidents and the investigation is continuing.
- Robbery (Bala Cynwyd) - Multiple actors entered a retail store and stole approximately $63,000 worth of designer handbags. Upon fleeing one of the actors brandished a knife. One actor was taken into custody and the investigation into this incident is continuing.
June 7
- Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim reported that they were attempting to sell an ATV to a subject who requested to take it for a test drive. Victim stated the subject left into Philadelphia and did not return. The investigation into this incident is continuing
