Burglary, Thefts From Cars, Stolen Vehicle: Lower Merion Crime Blotter

Lower Merion Township Police said numerous unlocked vehicles had items stolen from them over the past several days. See details here.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion released details on recent crime incidents in the township.

Incidents that are featured in the blotter occurred between Nov. 3 and Nov. 12.

Nov. 12

  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Merion Station) - Additional unlocked vehicles were located that had been entered by the previously arrested male.

  • Burglary (Bryn Mawr) - Vacant house found with a rear door broken open following a security alarm activation. Ransacking was located in the owners suite and a safe containing jewelry was removed. Security video shows 4 actors loading the safe into a vehicle. Investigation into this burglary is ongoing.
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Merion Station) - Multiple vehicles located that were unlocked and gone through following a suspicious persons call. Actor located on scene and taken into custody.

Nov. 10

  • Burglary (Bryn Mawr) - Employee at a pharmacy discovered glass broken out from the front door of the business. No entry was gained into the business. Investigation continuing.
  • Theft of Package (Wynnewood) - Amazon package removed from the front porch of a residence. Male actor last seen fleeing the area.
  • Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim dropped his vehicle off at a service station and when he returned the vehicle was no longer there. Video shows it was removed by an unknown actor the previous day. Investigation continuing.
  • Theft from Vehicle (Gladwyne) - Victim parked their vehicle at a local park and left their purse and wallet in the backseat. The victim later received notifications that their credit cards were used at businesses in the area. Investigation continuing.
  • Theft of Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim parked his vehicle and left it running with the keys in the ignition while they entered Wawa. When the victim returned to their vehicle it was no longer parked. Tracking of the vehicle last indicated it was located in Camden, NJ. Investigation into this incident is continuing.

Nov. 7

  • Theft From Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victims unlocked vehicle was entered during the overnight hours and items were taken.
  • Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victims unlocked vehicle was entered during the overnight hours. Rifled through and steering column damaged.
  • Theft From Motor Vehicle (Ardmore) - Victims unlocked vehicle was entered and items were stolen during the daytime hours.
  • Theft From Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Theft from victims unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours.
  • Theft From Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Theft from victims unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours.
  • Theft From Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Theft from victims unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours.
  • Theft From Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Theft from victims unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours.
  • Theft From Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Theft from victims unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours.
  • Attempt Theft From Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Victims unlocked vehicle was entered during the overnight hours. Nothing taken.
  • Theft of Package (Bala Cynwyd) - Victim had two packages taken from outside their apartment door on Nov. 1 and Nov. 3.

Nov. 6

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle (Ardmore) - Victims unlocked vehicle was stolen from the parking lot sometime overnight.
  • Theft of Lawn Signs (Rosemont) - Victims “We Stand with Israel” lawn signs were taken from their front lawn.

Nov. 5

  • Attempt Burglary (Bryn Mawr) - Store owner noticed pry marks on locked business door. No entry was made.
  • Theft of Package (Ardmore) - Theft of package from front of building during daytime hours.
  • Burglary (Bryn Mawr) - Officer discovered a broken window during an alarm activation where entry was gained.
  • Attempted Vehicle Theft (Bala Cynwyd) - The rear passenger window was smashed out causing the alarm to go off. The victim approached and spooked the suspect.

Nov. 4

  • Burglary (Gladwyne) - Force entry was made to master bedroom French doors during the early evening hours. Heavy ransacking inside was discovered.

Nov. 3

  • Theft-Pocket Picking (Wynnewood) - Theft of victims wallet while they shopped.
  • Theft From Motor Vehicle (Bala Cynwyd) - Theft from victims unlocked vehicle sometime between Oct. 30 and Nov. 3.
  • Theft Pocket Picking (Ardmore) - Victim was distracted by a young black female who engaged her in conversation, she later discovered her wallet was missing.
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle (Merion Station) - Additional unlocked vehicles were located that had been entered by the previously arrested male.
