Charges Coming In Fatal Ardmore Hit-And-Run
Carter Wilson died after a driver struck him as he crossed Ardmore Avenue back in February. The driver fled the scene and is being charged.
ARDMORE, PA — Police in Lower Merion Township said Wednesday night that charges are being filed in connection with a fatal incident in which a driver struck and killed a man in Ardmore then drove off.
Police said charges are being filed against the driver who struck and killed Carter Wilson, 51, of Ardmore.
The driver is a 32-year-old man from Wynnewood.

According to police, due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus the charges have not been formally filed.
Once charges are formally filed, police said the driver's identity will be released.

Charges being filed are felony accidents involving death and felony failure to provide information or assistance. He is also being charged with careless driving.
Wilson was struck at about 5:49 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at Ardmore Avenue near School Lane while crossing Ardmore Avenue about 75 feet away from a crosswalk, police said. Police said Wilson "failed to yield the right of way when crossing the roadway at a point other than a crosswalk or intersection"and was wearing dark clothing when struck.
The driver left the scene after striking a parked vehicle, as well.
Wilson was taken to Lankenau Hospital where he later died.
At about 10:30 p.m. Thursday the driver and his lawyer contacted police.
The driver turned over a 2020 White Jeep Grand Cherokee to police.
