Ardmore Model Allegedly Killed In Fight Over Drugs

The man charged with killing a former model in Ardmore said the violent encounter happened over money owed for cocaine.

ARDMORE, PA — The man accused of murdering a 36-year-old former Playboy model in her Ardmore apartment appeared in court Friday. According to a statement read in court, the violent encounter occurred over a fight about money owed for drugs.

Jonathan Harris, 30, of Johnstown, is charged with first, second, and third-degree murder in connection with the death of Christina Kraft at her Sibley Avenue home on Aug. 22. Harris was arrested Aug. 29 while getting off a bus in Pittsburgh after authorities received tips from the public on Harris' identity and whereabouts.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office has previously said that Harris – who was released from prison in July – met Kraft in Philadelphia during the early morning hours of Aug. 22. The DA said there was no apparent relationship between Harris and Kraft before that day. The two then took a car to Kraft's apartment on Sibley Avenue in Ardmore.

According to the statement shared in court, Harris said he had agreed to sell Kraft $1,200 worth of cocaine. He said the two went back to her apartment, used some of the drugs and had sex, 6ABC reported. Shortly after, Kraft refused to pay him and a fight ensued.

Kraft hit him over the head with a bottle, the statement said, according to NBC10, and he punched her and tied her up. He then gave her a phone to call her father, but choked her when she started to dial 911. He then fled. According to the statement shared in court, Harris said he did not think she was dead when he left her apartment.

Harris allegedly used a backdoor to flee the apartment, the Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele has previously said. Harris texted a friend in the early morning hours of Aug. 22 saying he was with a woman in her home in Ardmore, according to Steele.
