Lower Merion, Narberth 'Go For The Green' Award Winners Announced
See the winner of Lower Merion and Narberth's "Go for the Green" awards here. The winners will be honored at a ceremony on May 21.
LOWER MERION, PA — The winners of the 11th annual “Go for the Green” awards in Lower Merion and Narberth have been announced.
The Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) launched Go for the Green in an effort to raise environmental awareness throughout Lower Merion Township and Narberth Borough.
An awards presentation will be held at 6 p.m. on May 21 at Appleford, 770 Mt. Moro Road, Villanova.

The awards, which are open to the public, recognize residents, businesses, organizations and schools located in the Township and Narberth Borough.

The winners are:
Joseph M. Manko Lifetime Achievement Award — Power couple Michael P. McCann, Ph.D. and Karen Snetselaar, Ph.D.
Presented to an individual or group that makes a long-term significant impact on environmental issues such as improvement, protection, and awareness of the environment. This award was named for former Lower Merion Township Board President and Ward 9 Commissioner Joseph M. Manko, Esq., whose environmental endeavors as both an attorney and a community leader have impacted the quality of life in Lower Merion now and for future generations.
Resident – Phyllis Blumberg
An individual or resident living in the Township or Narberth Borough.
Multi-Family Residential – Beaumont at Bryn Mawr
Any multi-family building in the Township or Narberth Borough.
Commercial - JDog Junk Removal and Hauling
Businesses located in or providing services in the Township or Narberth Borough.
Organization – The Narberth Area Garden Club
Nonprofit entities or citizens’ groups in the Township or Narberth Borough.
Educational – Bryn Mawr College
Schools, universities, affiliated student or youth organizations and educational providers in the Township or Narberth Borough.
Site Greening - The Friends of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail
A property that has been enhanced through greening efforts such as the installation of trees, shrubs and other plant material, the reduction in impervious paving, or other improvement to the outdoor environment thereby improving the site ecologically and aesthetically.
Sustainability – Lower Merion Conservancy
Any person, organization, business or institution that has furthered sustainable practices in the Township or Narberth Borough.
