Lower Merion National Night Out Set For Early August

WYNNEWOOD, PA — The annual National Night Out event is all set for early August in Wynnewood.

Lower Merion Township Police and National Night Out announced the 2019 installment of the event will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at the Wynnewood Shopping Center.

The event will feature police demonstrations, the Phillie Phanatic, food, live music, carnival rides, and much more.

Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items to benefit Eldernet's Food Pantry.

Last year, Lower Merion Township's National Night Out event featured a major guest: Shaquille O'Neal. No word on whether Shaq or another celeb is tapped for the event, but keep your fingers crossed.

National Night Out is the brainchild of NATW Executive Director Matt Peskin, of Wynnewood, who created the event for NATW back in 1984.
The event is designed to:

• heighten crime prevention awareness;
• generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
• strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships;
• and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
