Lower Merion Officers Earn District Attorney Commendations
Three members of the Lower Merion Township Police Department recently earned commendations for their work to keep the public safe.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele recently presented commendations to 35 law enforcement agents and civilians for their efforts to keep their communities safe. And three members of the Lower Merion Township Police Department are among those 35 people.
The 35 were honored Wednesday, May 8 at the Montgomery County Safety Training Campus.
Those in the Lower Merion Police Department who were honored are Det. Gregory Pitchford, Det. Christine Konieczny, and Ofc. Edward Bove.

Pitchford and Konieczny, as well as detectives from Abington and New Castle, Delaware, were recognized for their work to end a string of burglaries and leading the effort to return numerous stolen items to their rightful owners.
Bove earned his commendation for pursuing an armed bank robber and taking him into custody.

Pitchford earned a second commendation alongside officers from Plymouth and Whitpain townships for their initiative to investigate overdose deaths int he county and subsequently arresting drug dealers.
