Lower Merion Police Cracking Down On DUI This Weekend
Beginning Thursday, Lower Merion Police are launching a multi-day DUI crackdown to keep are roads safe.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Lower Merion Police will be out in force cracking down on impaired driving for several days starting Thursday.
According to police, from Thursday, April 25 through Tuesday, April 30, police will conduct impaired driving checkpoints combined with roving patrols in the township.
This initiative is in partnership with a national impaired driving crackdown featuring intensified, highly visible enforcement activities using the tagline "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over."

A sobriety checkpoint is a highly visible, systematic method for stopping vehicles at a selected location to determine whether motorists are operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
The sobriety checkpoint is being funded by a PennDOT grant and is one of many tools utilized to increase public safety through increased awareness created by high profile enforcement.
