Man Shot 6 Times On City Avenue After Vehicle Crash: Reports

A 21-year-old man is in serious condition after being shot in a hail of gunfire Thursday night on City Avenue, according to reports.

PHILADELPHIA — A man was shot six times after being involved in a vehicle crash on City Avenue Thursday night, according to reports.

The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. at City Avenue and Presidential Boulevard, where the 21-year-old victim was leaving work, Action News reports.

The victim got into his girlfriend's vehicle and then another vehicle rammed into them, sending their vehicle into a route 65 SEPTA bus, according to NBC10.

The driver of the striking vehicle then fired 24 shots at the victim, striking him six times, the girlfriend's vehicle, and the SEPTA bus.

Philadelphia Police said a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper in the area heard the gunfire and rushed to the scene, where they found saw the victim running into Lower Merion Township across City Avenue.

Authorities took the victim to hospital, where he is in serious condition.
