'Mini' Target Coming To Former Wynnewood Acme Location

WYNNEWOOD, PA — With the Wynnewood Acme closed, area residents were wondering what might replace the shuttered grocer.

Rumors about what could fill the space circulated online.

And some of those rumors were spot on.

Patch confirmed a small-format Target store will replace the old Acme, which used to be a Superfresh, located at 250 E Lancaster Ave. in Wynnewood.

The Acme closed in July.

According to Target, the store will be about 30,000 square feet.

Target said more details on the store — such as how the shopping experience will be tailored to serve locals and the grand opening date — will be released at a later date.

Target was planning to install a small-format store at Ardmore and Lancaster avenues in Ardmore, but the store never came to fruition.

Patch has reached out to Target regarding the proposed Ardmore location and will update the story when details are made available.
