Wynnewood ACME To Close At End Of July

Workers from the Wynnewood store will be absorbed by the Bryn Mawr, Narberth, and Bala Cynwyd stores, ACME said.

WYNNEWOOD, PA — The ACME store in Wynnewood will close by the end of July, according to a company representative.

ACME Markets said they plan to close the store at 250 E. Lancaster Ave. in the Wynnewood section of Lower Merion Township.

Officials said the store is expected to close by Thursday, July 30.

Nearby, the Bala Cynwyd, Bryn Mawr, and Narberth stores will stay open and take on the workers from the Wynnewood store.

"Closing a store is always a tough decision, but we are focused on growing our business and reinvesting those resources into our existing stores along with aggressively exploring other new sites," ACME said in a statement to Patch. "We look forward to continuing to provide our customers with clean, fresh, full, and friendly shopping experiences."

This marks the second Main Line ACME store to close in about a year and a half.

ACME closed the Gladwyne location in February 2019.
